So, yes, I suppose an explanation is in order for those of you who just fell in here. (You must be careful. Did you not read the sign that said "Beware of the Cliff"?)

Anyway...first, U2. As in the band. You know. Four Irish men. Yah. Those guys.

Second...slash. This may be more complicated. Slash, in essence, is a genre of fiction that deals with male/male relationships. It can anything from a light, fluffy, G-rated ficlet to angsty, brooding, NC-17 erotica. Slash is named so for its pairings, like Joe/Bob. You say it "Joe slash Bob." See? This isn't that hard.

So, yes, U2 slash is Real-Person Slash (RPS). No, none of this is real. Hence the name fiction, people. None of us own U2 or even know them personally. We're just fans, simple as that.

Hey, if you don't like it, don't read it. Simple as that. I won't be offended, I promise. :D All flames, however, will be heartily laughed at, and, most likely, put up on the u2slash livejournal to give everyone a good chuckle.

Speaking of which...if you've come here looking for information on U2slash, you're in the wrong place. For that, I would suggest Berlynn Wohl's excellent site, The Processor, as she calls it, "a laughable attempt to intellectualize U2 slash." For those of you who already knew that...heeehee...

One night, Lis and I were fucking around, and we both realized that we were doing something involving slash rather than doing one of ten other things that we should have been doing. You know, like, work. Studying. All those pesky little "real life" things. In our giggly state, we declared we should make a club, and I whipped up her card in Corel...and then made one for myself...and then for Rachel....

Suddenly, everyone wanted one! Christ, we never knew we would make a club people WANTED to join!

The goal of MFHTOML is to bring u2slashers together, I guess. In a way. I mean, I know that when I was (hah, still AM) a newbie, I had no idea who to talk to. Luckily, Rach' was one at the same time, so we kind of latched on to each other and braved it together. Still, we, as the community, can seem cliquey and put-offish at times. This is an attempt to fix that, in a way. And, this is also makes it easy for everyone to get in touch with everyone without sifting through old Friends posts. :D
